In 2016, Mohamad Aly and his family took a leap of faith, leaving Egypt in search of a brighter future in the United States. Like many immigrants, he faced the challenges of starting over in a new country—navigating an unfamiliar system, building a career, supporting a family, and obtaining financial stability. Thanks to his determination and the right support, Mohamad transformed his life in ways he never imagined, by becoming a professional truck driver.
The Road to Apex Technical Institute
Mohamad found Apex Technical Institute through a local nonprofit known for its community support. In the Kansas City area, they recommend Apex’s CDL program as the top choice for individuals pursuing a truck driving career. Seizing the opportunity, Mohamad enrolled in Apex Technical Institute’s Class A CDL training program. However, the journey wasn’t easy. During his training, there came a moment when he felt overwhelmed and considered quitting. It was then that Senior Instructor, Ricky Taylor, stepped in. Refusing to let Mohamad give up on himself, Ricky pulled him aside for a heart-to-heart conversation. With unwavering encouragement, Ricky assured him that he would work with him one-on-one to ensure his success in the program.
Earning a Class A CDL: A Life-Changing Achievement
Fueled by Ricky’s support and his own resilience, Mohamad pushed through. He successfully graduated from Apex with his Class A CDL, unlocking a new world of career opportunities. Today, he drives for Werner Enterprises, a major transportation company, and his life has dramatically improved. Delivering for Dollar General, he is home every week and thriving in his new career.
Before Apex Technical Institute, Mohamad shared that he was barely getting by. Now, he earns nearly four times what he did before, giving him financial security, the ability to save, and the means to care for his family.
