Kansas 3rd Party CDL Testing
Apex CDL Institute is a Kansas certified 3rd party CDL examiners site and we maintain licensed examiners on the property at all times. We are able to provide CDL testing for most states, including Missouri right on the property.
Students: What to Expect
Not all truck driving schools have the ability to take their CDL test on-site, so those students are sent to an off-site testing facility to take their test and earn their CDL. Luckily, with Apex being a 3rd Party CDL Testing facility, a certified examiner conducts the test and completes their training all while on campus.
What’s the benefit of being a 3rd Party CDL Examiner?
The biggest benefit of Apex being a 3rd Party CDL examiner is that our students have the ability to practice for and complete their CDL driver skills test on campus in our trucks. You’ll have the confidence and hands-on skills you need to prepare yours for the test and a career as a truck driver.

Differences Between Class A and Class B Licenses
The differences between a Class A License and a Class B license come down to the number of vehicles and the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. A Class A license is for drivers who have a combination of two or more vehicles. This includes vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of 26,001 or more, and are towing an extra weight of 10,000 lbs. While Class B licenses only involve one vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of 26,001 lbs or more, and they’re not towing an extra 10,000 lbs.
All CDL license testing fees must be paid in advance and are non-refundable.
